Castro Valley is the largest community in unincorporated Alameda County. Nestled in a confluence of canyons, Castro Valley is loosely bounded to the South by Grove Way, and to the West by an irregular border that runs to Fairmont Ave, and turns East at Chabot Park and runs along Redwood Rd to Moraga. Living in Castro Valley offers residents a dense suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Castro Valley there are a lot of coffee shops and parks. Many families and young professionals live in Castro Valley and residents tend to lean liberal.

Castro Valley's rolling hills and canyons complement the pastoral feel of its many neighborhoods and the community. Home to one of the area’s premier school districts, Castro Valley heavily supports education and the arts. Castro Valley remains a community that keeps a foot in its history while making the most of the present. Ranches in the canyons complement the pastoral feel of its many neighborhoods and the community comes alive for its annual rodeo. Castro Valley is in Alameda County and is one of the best places to live in California.
